This week was very hard core and nose to the grind stone - paint paint and paint. Then I went to the Port Townsand Studio Tour. A friend has her Studio there and I had never been to visit her or to the wonderful little town of Port Townsand. What a fantastic creative place! I met artists who are working like I do  and it was such a fun and informative time.
There was Jay, Don, Elizabeth, Evy, Jeane, Margaret and Kate. This was all I had time to meet! Whoa and what inspirations.
Jay's work is in the Japanese attitude. It is not what you put in that counts it is what you leave out that allows the eye to focus.
Don's work is bold and he turns landscapes into color and bold forms. dontiller.com

Evy creates incostic(sp?) paintings with hot wax and did demos all day. evhh@comcast.net

Their web sites are incredible! And let us not forget the delightful houses all over the town! It was truly an inspiring day! The trip was long and twisty roads, a ferry, and bridges through stunning woodlands! Well worth the trip!

I gave a cotton tee a try at dyeing. It is very different than silk. The Gutta does not stick to the cotton. Must figure out why and alter the tech.

 This is cotton shirt - not so good, gold went away and so to keep the detail I used the good old sharpie. Pix below are more of the silk camis fronts and backs.

3 of the 4 Art Friends had a fantastic day yesterday. So much to digest. Such creativity! We went to the EMP and were mesmerized by the Fantasy Exhibit and the Si-Fi Exhibit! Here 3 of us are entering a "Galaxy Far Far Away"

No art done this day but such an inspirational day. We ended the day up at the Design Center's 3 Thursday Gallery Show. The art was overwhelming. Creativity, and the various styles were inspiring.
The Exposure to such a wide verity of art is opening up possibilities in my brain. I am wondering how to be part of the community of "hung on the wall artists" and make a living. Art supplies are not a cheap treat! Have I hit on a oxymoron? Mentioning Art and Making a Living in the same sentence?
This should be not so. So MAKE IT SO. Advertising and illustration art is now found on the Antique Road Show - now it is legit-art. So who is to stop me from being Framed and Hung? This is the next years research. And this is so.

Oh what a productive week. I have almost painted and dyed everything I have! Hear are some of the new designs / painting on my Wearable Art.
For my friend's Birthday I painted her a Rayon tube scarf!  What a large piece of cloth! It took almost 3 weeks to work in all the painting and drying and designing.

I am steaming the dye into the fabric and it is a rather hoooooky set up but it works.

Well friends - I am on a roll - creating up a storm. The silk painting is a delightful happening. I found in the basement a dress form that my daughter Kate left here. Never toss out what you may use in the future! Since I am the creator and photographer I could not be model as well so I was grateful that Bertha was still in the basement under plastic, just waiting to be used!

I have painted 17 of 24 and will be very glad to paint the rest. Now to sell them! If anyone has a suggestion let me know!

Hey! Ginger and Elizabeth!!
Our trip to the Museum of Glass was very inspirational!
It has been a busy time since the last Art Friend Day. I have been painting on silk Camisoles! Well they are silk jersey - What fun! I am also dyeing rayon. This fabric is a bit tricky - thicker and holds the dye differently. I do hope to sell some of these this year. So I can purchase more ART SUPPLIES AND SILK!!!

I have yet to steam set the items but that is happening today!!!

I am thinking I am having more fun than people should have!!!
